Q: Can I come with my friends to the same hotel?
A: Select “FRIEND” in the application form. We will try to place you at the same hotel. If the same hotel cannot or will not accept some of your friends we will send try to send your friends to the nearest hotels. It is thus advisable to select the same region on your application forms. This increases the possibility of being placed at the same hotel or at least in the same region or island.
Q: I have made my online application. What is next?

Q: I have successfully passed the interview. What is next?
A: As soon as you are accepted by one of our hotels you would get a job offer by email titled “Job Trust Offer”. The email contains the name of the hotel that has selected you, as well as the general terms and conditions of your work at the hotel. The offer concerns only the individual applicant it is addressed to and a group of applicants.
Q: When will I get my job offer?
A: The offers usually come at least one month before your supposed arrival to Greece. You should not be worried if you did not get any offer yet, it may come later. However, you should not buy your tickets to Greece unless you get the offer and confirmation of your acceptance. When you get the offer your answer is expected within 3 days.
Q: What happens if I would refuse the job offer? Will I get another one?
A: If you refuse the offer you should write the reason, so we could know where to forward your application form. There is no guarantee you will get another job offer.
Q: I have accepted the job offer. When I will get the contract?
A: If you accept the offer you should write your name, surname, reference number and the period and duration of your stay in Greece. If the period and duration are suitable to the hotel or resort we will send you the contract or official confirmation of your acceptance after we get the final approval from the hotel.
Q: I got the contract. When should I arrive at the hotel?
A: You should arrive in Greece at least one to three days before the starting date of your contract. Avoid arriving at night because public transportation is limited at night and transportation to your destination hotel might prove difficult or impossible. In addition, it is advisable to arrive at your workplace during the day in order to arrange your accommodation. You are expected to inform Job Trust about your arrival at least 2 weeks in advance. In case of any change of the arrival details or cancellation, you are expected to inform Job Trust immediately.
Q: I got the contract but it doesn’t mention what position I will be working in. It only mentions that I am accepted at one of the positions I have applied for.
A: At large hotels or resorts there usually is a large number of vacancies. Sometimes hotels and resorts decide your specific position upon your arrival depending on the needs at that moment. It is not possible for the hotel to assign you to a vacancy you have not applied for if Job Trust has not informed you about this change. In the unlikely event this incurs you are requested to contact Job Trust.
Q: I have got a work contract with Job Trust. How I will I get paid?
A: Your salary will be deposited in your bank account in your home country on a monthly basis. You are therefore expected to provide us the IBAN and SWIFT details of your country. If you do not yet have a bank account in your home country you are urgently advised to open one immediately. Otherwise, we are not able to pay out salaries.
Q: I have an internship (practice) contract with a hotel. How will I get paid?
A: You are paid by the hotel once per month. Usually, a bank account at a Greek bank is opened for the intern and he or she is provided with a debit card. Monthly salaries are deposited in this bank account. With your debit card, you are able to withdraw your salary in Greece or abroad.
Q: It is my first time traveling to Greece and I am very anxious about the trip. Can you help me with the transportation?
A: We will send you the contacts of other people going to Greece from your home country. You can contact them in order to arrange your traveling together. Also, you are provided with an itinerary with detailed travel and transportation information. This itinerary includes important phone numbers of your destination workplace and Job Trust. If you encounter any problem during your travel to Greece or the workplace you can contact us at any time.
Q: I would like to work in the same hotel with my boyfriend or girlfriend. Is that possible?
A: You can request to be placed in the same workplace as your partner by email. Be sure to include both your names and reference numbers. We cannot guarantee that you will both be accepted by the same workplace. Even if you are both accepted, it should be noted that you might work in different departments and during different shifts. It should also be noted that under no circumstances you will be able to be accommodated in the same room as there is a strict rule of gender separation regarding sleeping arrangements.
Q: Does the hotel or resort know that when I am arriving? Will anyone be welcoming me?
A: As soon as you send us your arrival details, we inform the hotel about your arrival details. In case of any changes or cancellations, you are expected to inform us immediately.
Q: Can I interrupt my contract? Will I have any penalty for that?
A: You can interrupt your contract if you have valid reasons such as health problems. Otherwise, you would lose your bonus and the hotel has the right not to pay you for the last working month.
Q: I have worked in one of your hotels last year. I would like to go there again this year too. What shall I do?
A: You can request placement at the same hotel by sending us an email containing your name, surname, reference number and the name and location of the desired workplace. Your request will then be forwarded to the hotel or resort and if accepted we will inform you.
Q: I worked last summer in Crete but this summer I want to go to another region. How can I re-apply? May I choose hotels I want to work?
A: You should send us your preferences regarding the region you would like to work. We will place you at one of the hotels in that region.
Q: If I have any problem in Greece how I may contact you?
A: When you get the contract we send you all our contact information: office phone numbers, email address, emergency mobile number. You may contact us either by email or by phone whenever needed. You may also ask your manager to contact Job Trust in case you do not have your cell phone.
Q: I am a student and I want to find a summer job at Greek hotels. How can I apply?
A: You can create an account on our website and after you have logged in you should complete our application form. We will then contact you for an interview.
Q: I would like to work in Greece but I don't speak English.
A: If you don't speak English it is difficult to be offered a position as English is required by all hotels.
Q: I would like to work in Greece but I don't speak Greek.
A: English is enough for most hotels. Only a few positions require knowledge of Greek.
Q: What is the best working period to apply for in order to find a job in a Greek hotel or resort?
A: The tourist season in Greece lasts from the end of April until the end of October and availability on your part for this period is highly advisable. A shorter duration option might be from end of May to end of September. For a shorter period duration placement might be less successful. You might try, however, as we will try to accommodate you.
Q: I would like to get a job at a Greek hotel. I know that the tourism season has already begun. Do I have any chances to be accepted for a front line employee position?
A: Housekeepers and waiters/waitresses are usually the remaining positions in the middle or end of the tourism season. You can still apply, however, as we will try to place you regardless.
Q: I am a tourism student at a university and I am coming to Greece as a trainee. Can I get more money than mentioned in the student agreement you have sent me?
A: No, you cannot get more money because you do not come as a regular employee. According to Greek Labour Law and regulations, the amount of the compensation of trainees (students) cannot exceed the amount of a regular salary for a similar position.
Q: I got my contract but I can see that it is for the service department and not for Front Office that I wanted? Is there any possibility of working at a Front Office position?
A: For Front Office positions higher qualifications are requested. In order to be considered for a Front Office position, the applicant must speak fluent English plus one more language (usually German, Russian or French) and have some previous experience. In case the hotel does not consider your candidature to be suitable for a Front Office position they may offer you another placement. It may happen that during the season you might be moved to FO, but this cannot be guaranteed.
Q: How will I get paid? Weekly or monthly?
A: Salaries and compensations are deposited in your bank account on a monthly basis.
Q: How can we communicate with our relatives?
A: By phone or internet. Greek telecom companies such as Cosmote, Vodafone, and Wind all offer prepaid mobile phone packages. The current price for 500MB of mobile data is around € 7 depending on the provider. Special packages for with minutes for calling abroad also exist. A prepaid sim card package costs around € 10. Be sure to have your ID card or passport with you when buying one, as under Greek law anonymous mobile phone numbers are not allowed.
Q: Who pays for electricity in the room we live?
A: The hotel. The monetary compensation mentioned in the contract is your pocket money. You do not pay anything.
Q: Do we pay for accommodation, uniforms or anything else?
A: No. You do not pay for your accommodation. You are given uniforms, pillows, and sheets that are cleaned once per week. In case a uniform is not provided we will inform you what clothes you should have with you. Shoes are usually not provided; we will inform you what kind of shoes you should have during work.
Q: How much money I should have when arriving in Greece and in which currency?
A: Food and accommodation are assured by the hotels but one should have some pocket money because the first salary will be in about one month. 250 Euros could be enough but it depends on one's needs. It is recommended to bring euros as in tourist destinations (where your work will be located) high commissions are usually charged when exchanging currencies.
