The COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on the tourism industry due to the
resulting travel restrictions as well as stump in demand among tourists. The tourism
industry has been massively affected by coronavirus, as many countries have
introduced travel restrictions in an attempt to contain its speed.
Most of the seaside hotels in Greece opened the summer season with 3-4 months
delay. Some other hotels did not open at all. As a result, there were very few open
vacancies in hospitality sector and many local and international seasonable workers
remained unemployed.
Many students who were supposed to have internships abroad had to cancel their
travelling arrangements. Thousands of people ready to leave their home countries for
a summer job in Greece were informed that their contracts were cancelled.
This year was a very difficult not only for the tourism industry but for the whole world. Everything is still so uncertain.
However, we should not lose our hopes, keep protecting ourselves and believes for
better.
Here is what one of our applicants who worked in Greece this summer writes:
“This year brought a lot of unexpected news, both bad and good! Since the beginning
of this year 2020, a lot of interesting things were happening, I did not know if I could
participate with Job Trust again, it was a big question, but something interesting was
happening inside me, I believed that I would participate in this program again! Days
and months passed, the situation improved and worsened, but I did not lose my hope
and believed to the last strength. And I did it, and it is all thanks to YOU!! I am very
grateful to You for giving me the opportunity to go to Greece again and get a job
there! Although it was almost the middle of August, but I did it and was very happy.
Everything was so fast and unexpected, but it led me to visit a new island and
find new adventures!!! ;)))
Thank You for Your best offer, thanks to it I visited my favorite country again, met
new people, visited many new places, gained experience in a new field of activity for
me and just had a great time this last month of summer, and also met autumn in
another country, on another island. The staff of this hotel is like one big family that is
ready to help each other, all friendly and sociable, I was very lucky, because I met
new friends. This island is incredibly beautiful and gorgeous, I liked to spend time
there and even in the last few days I didn't want to leave this great place! :))))))

forward despite the difficult situation on the world!”
