General rules of participating in the JOB TRUST program
If you just got accepted for a summer job or summer internship with JOB TRUST, congratulations! You can breathe a sigh of relief and celebrate. After the initial euphoria wears off though, you may find yourself asking “what do I do now?”
Before you start packing your clothes and going off to enjoy your summer work abroad experience, here are a few rules you should know.
HOW TO COMPLETE MY APPLICATION FORM
As soon as your interview with Job Trust is completed, you might be requested to complete all the missing parts of your application form. That means that you must check if you have correctly included your full name, your passport number, your studies and your previous work experience. You will also have to be sure you have attached two representative photos. Keep in mind that incomplete applications cannot be processed.
AFTER HAVING BEEN ACCEPTED BY JOB TRUST
So what will happen now that you got accepted? Your candidature will be considered by hotels that have job openings in the regions you have selected. When you are selected by a hotel we will send you a job offer. The job offer will include the name of the hotel, the location, the job position, the duration of the contract and a salary.
HOW TO CANCEL MY PARTICIPATION
In case you got accepted and got a job offer but for any reason you eventually have decided to cancel your participation, it is very important to inform Job Trust as soon as possible by sending us an email stating the reason of your cancellation.
BEFORE I BOOK MY TICKETS
We are pretty sure you are looking forward to booking your tickets for Greece. Wait with booking tickets until you actually have received a job offer by Job Trust. Keep in mind that having been accepted by Job Trust and receiving a job offer is not the same. There will be plenty of time to book your tickets after having been sent a job offer.
IN CASE OF GROUP ARRIVALS
Job Trust collaborates with a large number of 4 and 5 star hotels and resorts all over Greece. That means that each year many vacancies need to be filled, sometimes resulting in group arrivals of accepted candidates. In this case, Job Trust helps you getting in contact –upon request- with other accepted candidates who are going to the same region or even the same hotel as you.
This allows you to organize your trip together or just get in contact with eachother before the start of the contract, making travelling to and working in Greece for the first time less stressful.
WHAT IF THE HOTEL CANCELS MY ACCEPTANCE?
Sometimes a hotel or resort might choose to reject an applicant who has been accepted by Job Trust. This might happen to you, but even if it does you keep your chin up! Job Trust will try to find another placement that fits your profile adequately.
I WANT TO WORK IN THE SAME HOTEL AS MY FRIEND, WHAT SHOULD I DO?
It happens very often to receive applications from friends who desire to work together in the same hotel. In this case, Job Trust advises the applicants to select the same region in order to be selected by the same hotel or if that’s not possible at least to be in the same region. It is very important for you to select the same region as your friend, otherwise it will not be possible for Job Trust to try placing you in the same hotel or resort.
Keep in mind that hotels recruit on an individual basis, so working with your friends at the same hotel might not be possible.
I RECEIVED A JOB OFFER, WHAT DO I DO NOW?
So it finally happened. You got a job offer, nice work! The question now is: will you accept of reject?
After having received a job offer you have three days to evaluate it. After 3 days you accept or reject the offer by sending an email to jobtrust@jobtrust.gr.
Keep in mind that if you reject a job offer, Job Trust cannot guarantee another job offer in the same season. Additionally, you are requested to inform us about the reasons of not accepting. If the job requirements are not in line with your career goals we would like to know.
AFTER GETTING THE CONTRACT
Finally, you made it. You are almost done!
Once you get your contract you are requested to sign it and send it back to Job Trust, along with the other required documents of which you were informed. That’s it!
Please note that once you sign a contract with Job Trust you are allowed to be employed at the hotel or resort for a period of 3 years outside of the Job Trust program.
